You’re in the grandstand, you hear the crack of the bat….the roar of the crowd.
You see your son or grandson make a miraculous catch for the third out, boys rushing to home plate, celebrating sweet, sweet victory. Parents, grandparents, fans, cheer wildly in the stands.
Whether it’s 1947 or 2010, Sherman Field memories will live on forever.
Sherman Field means a lot to everyone who’s played there….Satchel Paige, Nellie Fox, Joba Chamberlain, Alex Gordon…and the parents, coaches and fans.
And it will mean a lot to thousands more, future players, parents and fans.
Sherman Field is important to not only our city but to the entire state. But now this historic place needs our attention, as the aging facilities need updating. The Lincoln Parks Foundation is leading a $2.2 million campaign to make these improvements.
